FAQs

Absolutely. Once you log in to your account, just head over to your profile where all your activity is listed. From there, you can easily edit any of your reviews if you made a mistake or want to update it based on a recent experience. If you feel your review is no longer relevant or you simply want to remove it, there's also a delete option. We believe you should always have control over what you share on the platform.

It’s easy! If you search for a business and it doesn’t come up, you’ll see an option to “Add Business.” Just click on it and fill in the basic details like the business name, website, email (if known), and what they do. Once it's submitted and verified, it will be live on the platform and ready to be reviewed by you and others. We encourage users to add new businesses so others can benefit from your unique experience.

Ethos Reviews is completely free for everyone. Whether you're browsing for a new place to shop, reading customer feedback, posting a review, or even claiming your business profile, there’s no cost involved. We believe transparency and community-driven recommendations should be accessible to all. In the future, we may introduce optional paid tools for business insights and exposure, but the core features will always remain free.

Claiming your business profile gives you more control over your online presence. Once verified, you can update your company details, respond to customer reviews, and showcase your commitment to service. It’s also a chance to publicly address concerns, express appreciation for good feedback, and build trust with future customers. Businesses that actively engage on Ethos tend to receive more positive visibility and customer loyalty.

We take authenticity very seriously. While not every review requires a receipt or proof of purchase, we use a combination of smart algorithms and human moderation to detect suspicious patterns, spammy content, or potential fake reviews. Reviews that raise flags are either held for moderation or removed if they break our guidelines. We're building a platform where users can trust what they read—and that means keeping the space clean and honest.

Think of your review as advice to someone else. Start by describing your experience in detail—what service or product you used, how it went, and what stood out (good or bad). Be specific—mention names, timelines, or features. And try to stay respectful, even when your experience wasn’t great. The best reviews are honest, clear, and helpful—not just emotional rants. What would you want to know if you were on the other side reading it?

No, businesses cannot remove reviews simply because they’re negative. However, they can report reviews that are abusive, false, or violate our community guidelines. Our moderation team will investigate and determine if a review needs to be edited or taken down. We believe in giving businesses a voice, but not at the expense of honesty or fairness. Every review should reflect a real experience.

Yes, creating an account is required before posting reviews. This helps us reduce spam, track activity, and ensure accountability. The sign-up process is simple and only takes a minute. We don’t ask for unnecessary details, and your personal information stays private. Only your display name is visible to the public.

Fake or misleading reviews go against everything we stand for. If you believe a review is false or malicious, you can report it using the “Report” button under the post. Our team will look into it promptly, and if the review violates our terms, it will be removed. We also give businesses a chance to respond publicly to every review, so you can share your side of the story directly with readers.

We use a combination of technology and human oversight. Our system automatically flags suspicious behavior—like mass posting, repeated IP addresses, or bot activity. But we don’t stop there. We also rely on our community to report unusual content. Reviews from newly created accounts may be reviewed manually before they go live. We’re committed to making Ethos a platform where users can trust what they see.
